Whats happening at 17 Sqn at the moment....?

Exercise Sparrowhawk has been and gone !!!

If you missed it here`s what happened:

Friday and Saturday came by and were beautiful days. The competition was rather tough over these 2 days and at the end of the 2nd day only a few points seperated the top teams.

Unfortunately Sunday turned bad.

The rain came in about 9am and that was that. It didnt stop till Wednesday. This meant that the top team, touch, and the krypton factor got cancelled due to the weather. They were replaced by the same number of events including basketball and leadership.

Due to the weather, thanks to the the NZ Army, we were able to use the LAV Buildings which have been finished and awaiting the vehicles for drill and sport.

The final standing ( which i bet is what you are wanting ) were:

4th - 17 City of Christchurch Sqn ATC Team 2
3rd - 38 Waimari Sqn ATC
2nd - City of Christchurch Cadet Corps

and first by 1 point.....

1st - The Order of St.John

It was a very close competition and was tightly contested til the final event. For all those who didnt come next year we hope to see you next year. Keep half an eye and an ear open for more info into the start of next year.

As of last week the 11th September 2003 CDT Reid A is now CPL Reid. Well done.

Also a big "Congratulations" go to 17 Sqn and all the Cadets and Officers for winning the Southern Area Efficiency Trophy for 2003. Good luck for the National Efficiency Inspection in a few weeks.
